It was during their time at Les Ateliers de Paris (2016-2018) that Aurélia Leblanc and Lucile Viaud imagined the meeting of their preferred materials. Aurélia Leblanc weaves exceptional yarns for haute couture, while Lucile Viaud develops and manufactures her own recipes for natural glass from resources that can be valorized locally (geoverrying).

By succeeding in creating a unique material, glass weaving, gradating the color variations of available glasses according to the season, they propose a meeting of their two visions, personalities and know-how. Inhabited by the question of movement, weave and the possible dialogue between glass and bio-sourced yarns, the creators have created an infinite variety of architectural art materials. The winners of the Grands Prix de la Ville de Paris (2017 and 2018) have deferred the Bettencourt Schueller Prize for the Intelligence of the Hand in the Dialogues category until 2023.
A FUSION OF TWO EXCEPTIONAL SKILLS
Their collaboration illustrates the infinite capacity of weaving and glass to invent together a new material with multiple motifs. Eager to cross-fertilize their skills, the textile creator and the designer naturally began to work together on this new material. They began their trials and discovered a shared universe between opacity and transparency, work on reflection, structure and suppleness, strongly enriched around the values in which they find themselves around bio-sourced materials. So, since 2018, the two designers have been working in dialogue to come up with the first pieces based on their techniques.
Fibers dialogues
Multiple experiments in artisanal weaving, where different types of glass threads (yarns, beads, jewelry, sculptures) intersect with textile threads of seaweed, nettle, linen, hemp and metal.
The two designers each work in their own workshops, in different but complementary fields. Aurélia Leblanc develops and weaves original materials for Haute Couture in Paris, while Lucile Viaud invents and creates bespoke glassware for tableware and statement pieces.

Beyond the technical challenge, glass weaving is an Architectural Art material that offers itself to interior design, like a sculpted jewel that the light reveals over the hours. A poetic, hybrid and unique material that never ceases to reinvent itself.
